Founded in 1997 in Uruguay, BFS Producciones is an independent company dedicated to the production and co-production of films between Latin America and Europe. The company develops cinema rooted in strong social realities, driven by singular characters and stories with an international scope.
From its inception, BFS Producciones has operated within an international framework, co-producing films and documentaries with partners in France, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Cuba, Chile and Venezuela, and presenting its work at major international festivals.
Its most notable productions include the feature films In This Tricky Life (2001) and Masángeles (2008) by Beatriz Flores Silva, both internationally awarded, as well as a range of minority co-productions with emerging and established filmmakers.
After a period of interruption, BFS Producciones is relaunching in 2026 with a renewed focus on developing high-end fiction films and premium series with international reach.
